In the wake of depleting natural resources such as coal and gas, Modi-led government understands the importance of the renewable energy. Harnessing solar sector has always been a challenge as compared to the European countries like Germany. Solar sector has evolved as a great option for substituting but with higher installation charges and lesser power generation, this sector needs support.
Government looks forward to tapping the solar energy to its potential. They look forward to setting up of mega power projects and harness the large stretch of four Indian deserts – Thar in Rajasthan, Rann of Kutch in Gujarat, Lahul & Spiti in Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh in Jammu & Kashmir.
The scheme not only focused on the setting up of large MW scale power projects but also emphasizes on the off-grid setups like water pump sets that would be helpful in the agricultural practices.
